Donald Trump is set to attend Game Three of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
The same evening, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani is also expected to be present at the arena, though the Democratic Mayor has made clear he will not be seated alongside the president.
"If I go... I'll be doing so separately," Mamdani stated.
The San Antonio Spurs will face the New York Knicks in the final, with Trump's attendance anticipated on June 8, 8.30pm EDT (June 9, 1.30am BST), according to the New York Post.
The Knicks have reached the NBA Finals for the first time in almost 30 years, with Mike Brown's squad taking on the San Antonio Spurs in pursuit of their first championship title since 1973.
The series commences in Texas on Wednesday evening before shifting to New York for the third fixture.
Security personnel at Madison Square Garden have reportedly been enhancing their preparations in anticipation of the President's potential appearance.
Trump, who was born in New York, has been a regular presence at high-profile sporting events since his return to the White House.

He has attended events including the Ryder Cup, Super Bowl, US Open tennis tournament and a New York Yankees fixture.
The President previously confirmed his intention to attend a game following an invitation from Knicks owner James Dolan.
He said: "I think I'll be going to one of the games. I was invited by numerous people, and [Dolan], and I think I'll be going.
"Boy, what a team! They win all their games... it's great to see it. The Knicks have really suffered for years and they're doing right now very well."

Trump had originally intended to watch Game Five of the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in four matches, eliminating that opportunity.
Mamdani attended Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals, watching from the upper tiers as the Knicks defeated the Cavaliers on their way to a comprehensive series victory.
"If the President went to a game, that's his decision to make. If I go to the game, I'll be doing so separately," he told TMZ.

When asked whether Trump might receive a warm reception from the crowd, Mamdani declined to speculate.
"New Yorkers, we are an unpredictable people. I think I'd make a fool of myself if I wanted to make a prediction," he said.
