The Red Devils left Goodison Park with all three points on Sunday

Manchester United continued their recent resurgence with a 3-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday night.

The Red Devils got off to a dream start in the third minute, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring a stunner.

The 19-year-old netted a sensational overhead kick to spark wild celebrations in the away end.

And United then added to their lead in the second half, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial both on target. GB News now takes a look at four things we learned from the contest on Merseyside.

United have two gems for the future

It's scary to think how good Garnacho could be in the future.

The United star was a constant threat against Everton and, not for the first time, delivered a mature performance beyond his years.

Garnacho's goal was mesmeric and has echoes of Wayne Rooney's famous acrobatic effort against Manchester City back in 2011.

Another youngster who caught the eye was Kobbie Mainoo.

Fans have had to be patient with the 18-year-old, with injury preventing him from featuring regularly so far this season.

Mainoo seems like he's been worth the wait, however, with the teenager impressing and running the show with impressive authority.

United gamble pays off

After a VAR check, United got a penalty in the second half after Ashley Young fouled Anthony Martial.

Bruno Fernandes initially took the ball and looked destined to take the spot-kick, especially given his impressive record from 12 yards.

However, the Portugal international then surprisingly gave the ball to Rashford - who dispatched expertly past Jordan Pickford.

Had the England international missed, United's gamble would have backfired.

Yet they'll be delighted at seeing Rashford return to the scoresheet and he'll no doubt he appreciative of Fernandes for his kind gesture.

Everton make a racket

Everton were recently docked 10 points by the Premier League.

It was a decision that has angered the Toffees, who were ruled to have broken Financial Fair Play regulations.

And Everton fans made a din all match as they protested the call which has left them languishing in the relegation zone.

They were particularly vocal before Garnacho's goal silenced them.

Yet many Everton fans rediscovered their voices to protest in the 10th minute of the match. Whether their appeal is successful in overcoming the outcome, meanwhile, remains to be seen.

United boosted by Luke Shaw's return

Luke Shaw didn't exactly steal the show.

But United will be relieved to see the England international come back unscathed on his first appearance since injury.

Shaw offers the Red Devils defensive solidarity, something they've missed during the early stages of the season.

And he also provided an additional outlet in attack, too.
