Harry Kane joining Man Utd gets green light as Bayern Munich chase Tottenham star

The 30-year-old's future in north London remains up in the air
Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has given his old side the green light to sign Harry Kane this summer.
The 30-year-old's future is currently up in the air, with Bayern Munich frontrunners in the race to sign the Tottenham star.
Neville, however, thinks United would be wise to sign Kane - and hopes a deal is being worked on behind the scenes.
"[Andre Onana] and Rasmus Hojlund, they're the two positions you are going to be put under the most scrutiny and they're the two players that have to settle in," he told The Overlap Fan Debate.

"The reason I'm nervous about United's season is, you've got two unknowns at either end of the pitch in two focal positions that really have to hit it off for them to be better than last season.
"I hope they're [Manchester United] being clever, and [Harry] Kane's being clever, and they're waiting to get a deal whereby they agree a deal with [Bayern] Munich, he says 'no I'm not going, and I want to go to United'.
"United need Kane, they still need the young lad as well [Rasmus Højlund] to back him up and bed in and play his 25/30 games because he didn't play every game for Atalanta last season.
"I'm worried that we've got this kid up front that to be fair, has massive pressure on his shoulders.
"Everyone's going to be watching him, he needs that pressure taken off him a bit. Kane puts United into that sort of realm of catching Arsenal and [Manchester] City."
Right now, however, it's unclear if United will make a late push for Kane.
The Red Devils have already recruited one centre-forward in Rasmus Hojlund, with the Denmark international touching down from Atalanta.
And United seem to want a fresh midfielder in the door instead of going all guns blazing for Kane.
Bayern Munich had a third bid for the Tottenham hitman rejected earlier in the week.
Yet the Bundesliga giants are refusing to throw in the towel and remain hopeful of getting a deal done.
Tottenham are reluctant to lose their talisman, however, even if Kane has just a year left on his contract.
They're willing to run the risk of losing the England skipper for nothing in 12 months' time as a result.
And if Kane is still at Tottenham by the time they start their Premier League campaign against Brentford on Sunday, then it's expected he'll stay put.
Former Tottenham star Gary Lineker, meanwhile, thinks Kane should make the move to Bayern and try a new challenge in Germany.
He told The Sun: “I think Harry will leave Tottenham - and he should do. I think he wants to go and that they will make it happen.
“The time is right for him, and the right club has come in for him. Munich is a lovely city and Bayern are one of the great clubs in world football.
“Alan Shearer is willing to drive Harry to the airport because he wants to keep his Premier League goalscoring record intact.
“But Harry is already the all-time record scorer for England and Tottenham.

“The game is about winning team honours rather than individual records and that is what Harry needs.
“I don’t see Spurs finishing even close to the top four next season.
“And if Harry doesn't win trophies with Bayern then he really must be a jinx.”
