Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau have sent a clear message that Rory McIlroy isn't the only golfer in peak form as the US PGA Championship approaches.
Scheffler delivered a masterclass at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, securing a wire-to-wire victory with a remarkable 31 under par.
DeChambeau silenced critics by holding off Charles Howell III at LIV's Korea event, claiming his first win since last year's US Open.
Their timely victories have heightened anticipation for the year's second major, starting on 15 May.

Scheffler's performance in his hometown tournament was utterly dominant, posting rounds of 61, 63, 66 and 63.
His aggregate score of 253 at TPC Craig Ranch equalled the PGA Tour record.
The world number one topped an astonishing 14 statistical categories, including strokes gained tee to green, putting average and scoring on all par holes.
This first win of 2025 for the 28-year-old Texan appears to be a determined response to McIlroy succeeding him as Masters champion last month.
Scheffler's competitive spirit was evident in his post-tournament comments.
"I think we're all fired up to come out here and compete," he said.

"This week I was the best player. I have the week off, and we'll see the week after who is the best player at the PGA."
He praised McIlroy's recent achievement, adding: "The career Grand Slam was really special to watch. I was glad to be able to be there for it."
"Any time you're getting beat, you're always fired up just a little bit extra to go out and practice."

DeChambeau's victory comes after a series of closing round failures, including his fade when playing in the final group with McIlroy at Augusta.
The 31-year-old had also squandered opportunities at Doral in early April and at the LIV event in Mexico.
Despite questions about LIV's strength, DeChambeau has proven his major credentials, finishing runner-up at last year's US PGA before winning the US Open.
"There's a lot of star-studded talent out there right now that's going to be in the PGA Championship," DeChambeau observed. "We're going to be battling it out."
