Scottie Scheffler, 28, has been spotted sporting an orange polo shirt while gearing up for the PGA Championship, sparking huge online reaction.
Scheffler appeared to make a lighthearted reference to his infamous 2024 PGA Championship arrest with his outfit choice at this year's tournament.
The world No 1 golfer was spotted wearing the orange polo shirt during the event at Quail Hollow in North Carolina.
The colour choice seemed to nod to the viral mugshot that circulated last year showing Scheffler in orange overalls following his arrest outside Valhalla Golf Club.

The American golfer was arrested by police hours before his tee time at last year's PGA Championship after attempting to drive into the entrance around the scene of a fatal bus crash.
He faced serious charges including second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.
However, all criminal charges against Scheffler were dropped just 12 days after his arrest.
Despite the charges being dismissed, his mugshot had already gone viral across the internet, with the incident at Valhalla Golf Club quickly becoming headline news across the sporting world.

Scheffler, however, appeared much more relaxed in his orange attire this time around as he prepared to compete for his third PGA Championship.
Fans were quick to theorise over the reasoning behind the wardrobe choice on social media, with one fan writing: "He does have a sense of humour"
Another said: "I’m really hoping this is intentional."
A third comedically claimed: "I kept saying someone should yell out Jailbird! during his big win a while ago!"

While a fourth added: "That's a pretty sweet troll by Scottie for sure!"
Some fans have suggested the burnt orange colour might serve a dual purpose, also representing his alma mater, the University of Texas in Austin, as the university's signature colours match the shade Scheffler chose to wear at Quail Hollow.
However, one fan was quick to dispel this theory, claiming: "'He went to Texas' ok and he still never wears orange."

Whether intentional or coincidental, the colour choice created a talking point among golf fans following the tournament.
The lighthearted reference showed Scheffler's ability to move past last year's pre-tournament drama with good humour.
Scheffler is eyeing his third PGA Championship title at this year's tournament at Quail Hollow.
The first round starts today with Scheffler placed in a high-profile grouping alongside Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele. Their tee time is scheduled for 1:22pm local time.
The prestigious grouping brings together three of the world's top golfers as they compete for the second major championship of the year.
Scheffler enters the tournament as the world's top-ranked player and a favourite to claim the title.
