New footage has emerged of Rory McIlroy demanding the removal of a spectator who directed a homophobic slur at him during Europe's 15-13 triumph over the United States at the Ryder Cup last weekend.
The five-time major winner immediately confronted the individual after being called a "f*****" whilst walking with his wife Erica Stoll.
"Throw him out," McIlroy instructed security personnel, identifying the offender directly. When questioned about the ejection request, the 36-year-old responded: "For calling me a f*****."

One viral clip showed McIlroy responding forcefully to a group of hecklers, telling them to "Shut the f*** up" before taking his shot.

| GETTYMcIlroy condemned the spectators' conduct as falling below acceptable standards for the sport. "I think golf should be held to a higher standard than what was seen out there this week," the golfer stated.
He characterised the fan behaviour as "unacceptable and abusive", emphasising that such treatment should never be tolerated within the game, adding: "I don't think we should ever accept that in golf.
"Golf has the ability to unite people. It teaches you how to respect people. Sometimes this week, we didn't see that."

The tournament required extraordinary security measures, with police dogs and state troopers deployed on Saturday to manage crowd control during the fourballs.
American golfer Justin Thomas was seen signalling for his own supporters to remain quiet whilst McIlroy attempted shots.
The event featured an appearance from President Donald Trump, marking the first attendance by a sitting US president at the competition.

Despite enduring what he described as "a rough week", McIlroy maintained that Europe's performance provided the ultimate response.
"We shut them up by our performance and how we played," he concluded.
