Wrexham AFC's Hollywood owners are seeking new investors at an eye-watering valuation of $475 million, representing an extraordinary 19,000 per cent increase since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney acquired the Welsh club for just $2.5 million in late 2020.
The actors are reportedly exploring options to sell a stake in the team as they prepare for Championship football next season.
According to reports, the club is in early-stage discussions about raising capital to compete at the higher level.
The projected valuation would mark one of football's most remarkable value transformations in recent memory, far exceeding typical Championship club prices.
Wrexham expects revenue of approximately £50 million in the Championship, bolstered by increased broadcasting rights, sponsorship deals and publicity linked to their celebrity ownership.
This represents a significant leap from their reported $35.6 million revenue in fiscal year 2024, which had already more than doubled from the previous year.

The proposed valuation dwarfs recent football transactions. Championship side Sheffield United sold for $135.5 million last year, whilst Premier League club Everton commanded an estimated $500 million in December.
The Welsh club has achieved promotion through England's football pyramid for three consecutive years, culminating in their ascent to the Championship.
Reynolds and McElhenney's acquisition has transformed the club into a global phenomenon, largely through the FX documentary series "Welcome to Wrexham".
The programme has brought unprecedented attention to the historic Welsh side.
The Allyn family, former medical-device company owners, previously invested in October, purchasing nearly 15 per cent of Wrexham. That transaction valued the club at $136 million, demonstrating the rapid appreciation in worth.
The Hollywood duo's stewardship has coincided with remarkable on-pitch success.
The team has secured promotion for three straight years, a record achievement that has propelled them from non-league football to the brink of England's elite divisions.
Sources familiar with the matter suggest negotiations remain at an early stage, with no final decisions taken.

Whether Wrexham can attract investors at such an elevated valuation remains uncertain, given the substantial premium over comparable Championship clubs.
The club's ambitious pricing reflects confidence in their trajectory under Reynolds and McElhenney's ownership.
However, the significant jump from the Allyn family's $136 million valuation just months ago may prove challenging to justify.
