West Ham were knocked out of the Carabao Cup despite leading Wolves with moments left in the tie

Graham Potter is coming under heaping pressure from fans at West Ham, with the club suffering defeat in all three matches to open the campaign.

The defensive frailties have been particularly alarming, with the team shipping eleven goals across these fixtures.

The latest setback came at Molineux, where the Hammers surrendered an advantage to fall 3-2 to Wolves in the Carabao Cup second round.

This result extends Potter's troubling record at the helm to just five victories from twenty-one matches since assuming control.

The defensive vulnerability and inability to secure results have placed immediate pressure on the manager's position.

The visitors initially responded well after Rodrigo Gomes had given the home side the advantage, converting from close range after Hwang Hee-chan's penalty struck the woodwork.

Tomas Soucek levelled with a header shortly after the interval, before Lucas Paqueta capitalised on defensive errors to put the Hammers in front from Jarrod Bowen's delivery.

However, substitute Jorgen Strand Larsen transformed the contest in the closing stages.

The Norwegian striker, who had been subject to a £50m approach from Newcastle earlier in the week, struck twice within two minutes to secure victory for Wolves and compound West Ham's misery.

The supporter backlash has been fierce and unforgiving.

One frustrated fan declared: "That's all on Potter, made one sub while we have the slowest midfield on the planet.. what a shame."

Another supporter expressed their exasperation more forcefully: "Please please get rid of Potter.

"Cannot believe he was ever touted as a potential England manager.

"So clueless, we need midfield legs/youth so starts with 30/30+ players - my 95 year old gran understands better than he does!!"

The criticism intensified further, with one fan suggesting: "Nah Graham Potter's goal is to finish West Ham United once and for all."

Perhaps most damning was the comparison to previous managers, with a fourth supporter stating: "Graham Potter could potentially be the worst manager since Avram Grant - he's making Julen Lopetegui look like Sir Alex Ferguson."

The atmosphere at Molineux deteriorated further when Bowen approached the away supporters after the final whistle.

His attempt to acknowledge the travelling fans quickly soured, with stewards intervening to prevent him getting closer to the crowd.

The forward appeared visibly frustrated, seemingly responding to comments from the stands.

Potter's predecessor Julen Lopetegui managed just twenty-two matches before his dismissal in January.

With Potter now approaching that same tally, questions about his future are intensifying.

The Hammers face Nottingham Forest on Sunday desperately seeking their first points of the season, with a challenging fixture against Tottenham looming in September.
