West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola's wife has publicly turned on manager Nuno Espirito Santo after the club's disastrous relegation from the Premier League.
The Hammers crashed into the Championship on Sunday despite beating Leeds United 3-0 on the final day of the campaign.
West Ham's victory proved meaningless, however, after Tottenham Hotspur secured survival with a 1-0 win over Everton.
As anger and frustration spread among supporters following the club's relegation, Areola's wife Marrion took aim at both Nuno and former boss Graham Potter in a furious social media outburst.
Posting a photo of her husband celebrating West Ham's UEFA Europa Conference League Final success in 2023, Marrion contrasted the club's European glory with their current misery.
"From a trophy to relegation," she wrote. "Thank you Potter for the start of this season and Nuno for the end."
She followed that post with further memories from West Ham's Conference League triumph before adding broken-heart emojis as the reality of relegation sank in.
Much of Marrion's anger appeared directed at how Areola was treated throughout the season.

Alphonse Areola's wife called out both Graham Potter and Nuno Espirito Santo after West Ham's relegation
|The French goalkeeper began the campaign as first choice before eventually losing his place after West Ham signed Mads Hermansen from Leicester City during the summer transfer window.
Hermansen struggled badly during West Ham's chaotic start to the season, with the club conceding 11 goals in their opening four league matches.
That prompted Areola's return to the starting side, with the 33-year-old then featuring regularly under Nuno after the Portuguese manager replaced Potter.
But West Ham's defensive problems continued throughout the campaign.

Marrion suggested the decision left her husband stunned.
"Being dropped at the beginning of the season for no reason," she posted. "Then coming back after a very bad start and suddenly hearing: 'I'm sorry, you won't start.'"
She also appeared to mock the explanation allegedly given to Areola by the coaching staff.
"'Why?'
"'No particular reason but I'm sorry.'"
West Ham briefly recovered after Hermansen reclaimed the No 1 role, climbing away from the relegation zone following an improved run of form.

She then appeared to blame Nuno for Areola missing out on a place in France national football team's World Cup squad.
"And NO World Cup this year, thank you Nuno," she wrote alongside footage of Areola representing France.
Meanwhile, Nuno refused to discuss whether he plans to remain at West Ham following relegation.
"Today is about understanding the sadness of this moment," he said after the match. "Our attention was on achieving the mission and we failed."
