Virgil van Dijk has revealed he is "disappointed" in Crystal Palace fans who broke the silence during the tribute to Diogo Jota at Wembley on Sunday.
The pre-match minute's silence honoured former Liverpool forward Jota and his brother Andre Silva was cut short when some Crystal Palace supporters broke the silence.
Both Jota and his younger brother had tragically lost their lives in a road accident the previous month.

Van Dijk made his feelings clear about the disruption: "Yes, I am disappointed," the Dutch defender stated. "That is the only thing I can say. I don't know who did it but there was plenty trying to shush it down so obviously that doesn't help it."

The centre-back acknowledged the scale of the crowd at Wembley whilst expressing his dismay: "But it is what it is. You can't control how many fans were here? Was it 80,000 people? So it's disappointing to hear that but if that person or those persons can go home and be happy with themselves, then..."
Liverpool manager Arne Slot offered a more charitable interpretation of the disruption. The Dutch coach suggested the interruption might have been unintentional rather than deliberately disrespectful.
"I am a positive person. If I look at the respect that has been paid to them both from everywhere around the world then this is what I have in my head," Slot explained. "I don't think this was planned. Maybe they weren't aware that it was a minute of silence. Then the fans of Palace were trying to calm that person or those persons down."
The manager proposed that excitement might have overwhelmed awareness. "It's also five weeks ago. That's why maybe this fan was just so happy for them to be here in the Community Shield that he forgot in that second."
