Arsenal delivered a stunning performance at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, thrashing Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the Champions League. The standout moment belonged to Viktor Gyokeres, who finally broke his scoring duck after nine matches without finding the net for club and country.
The Swedish striker netted twice in quick succession, bringing pure joy to manager Mikel Arteta.
The Arsenal boss couldn't hide his delight afterwards, praising Gyokeres' exceptional work ethic and team contributions.
"Delighted as he fully deserved it," Arteta told Amazon Prime. "The workrate he brings to the team is outstanding."

The manager revealed it was wonderful seeing Gyokeres' beaming smile after the goals. "We value a lot of things that he does for the team and it was the biggest smile on his face today."
Arteta's faith in his striker was evident as he spoke about the team's support for Gyokeres during his barren spell. "Look at his team-mates," the manager added, highlighting how the squad rallied around him.
The Arsenal boss expressed optimism about what lies ahead. "Hopefully this is the start of some beautiful sequences," he said, suggesting the goals could spark a prolific run for the forward.
Beyond Gyokeres' heroics, Arteta praised his team's overall display against Diego Simeone's side.
"At this level in the Champions League you really need to step up and we certainly did that in every phase of the play," he explained.

The manager also singled out Declan Rice's set-piece delivery, calling it "superb" and noting how different players are getting on the scoresheet.
The match itself was a masterclass in clinical finishing. Arsenal had dominated the first half without reward, hitting the woodwork through Eberechi Eze's deflected strike whilst Jan Oblak denied Bukayo Saka brilliantly.
The breakthrough arrived just before the hour when Declan Rice's wicked free-kick found Gabriel unmarked, and the Brazilian defender glanced home expertly.
Just seven minutes later, young Myles Lewis-Skelly went on a brilliant run before setting up Gabriel Martinelli, who curled beautifully into the far corner.
Then came Gyokeres' moment. His first was scrappy, bundling home after Eze's blocked shot fell kindly.

Three minutes later, he was celebrating again, converting from close range after Gabriel headed Rice's corner across goal.
Four goals in thirteen devastating minutes left Atletico completely shell-shocked.
Gyokeres himself was thrilled to end his drought, which had stretched to 38 days. "I am very pleased," he told UEFA. "To score four and keep a clean sheet again is very good."

The striker praised his team's control throughout the match. "We always keep going. We do the things right when we defend and when we get the chances we are extremely strong in taking those."
He remained philosophical about his barren run. "I try to do my best all the time and work hard, contribute with different stuff and the goals would have come sooner or later."
Arsenal's victory maintains their flawless European campaign - three wins from three matches, eight goals scored and remarkably, none conceded. It's their fourth consecutive clean sheet across all competitions.
