Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has announced he will leave the club this summer after 20 years, following their Premier League triumph.
The 26-year-old defender confirmed on Monday that he will depart on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Alexander-Arnold has been instrumental to Liverpool's success this season under new manager Arne Slot, helping the team secure their 20th league title.
The England international described it as "the hardest decision I've ever made in my life."
In a heartfelt video shared on X, Alexander-Arnold explained his decision to leave his boyhood club.
"This club has been my whole life, my whole world - for 20 years," he said.
He addressed fans' frustrations about his silence on the matter, stating it was "always my intention to keep my full focus on the team's best interests, which was securing No. 20."
The defender revealed his departure is about "experiencing a new challenge, taking myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself both professionally and personally."
Alexander-Arnold has been a key figure in Liverpool's success throughout his career at the club.
He has now secured his second Premier League title, with the first coming during the 2019/20 season.
The right-back expressed his gratitude to everyone at Liverpool in his statement.
"I've been blessed enough to live out my dreams here and I will never, ever take for granted the special moments I've been fortunate enough to have lived through with you all," he said.
"My love for this club will never die."
Alexander-Arnold was one of three Liverpool stalwarts who entered the season with just a year remaining on their contracts.
While teammates Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk opted to renew their deals last month, Alexander-Arnold has chosen a different path.
The Liverpool native had extended his contract with the club in 2021, reportedly worth £29million in total.
His decision not to follow his teammates in signing a new deal means he will leave on a free transfer this summer.
The defender's annual salary at Liverpool was around £7m, but his income extends beyond his club wages.
Alexander-Arnold has secured numerous brand collaborations throughout his career.
In 2023, he signed his most lucrative endorsement deal with Adidas, reportedly worth approximately £25m over multiple years.
These commercial partnerships have significantly contributed to his financial status.

Off the pitch, Alexander-Arnold has attracted attention for his personal life.
He was linked romantically with Iris Law, daughter of Hollywood actor Jude Law, in May 2024.
The couple were first spotted together during a Guess Jeans photoshoot.
They later enjoyed a romantic holiday in Barbados.
However, their relationship reportedly ended after five months due to their demanding careers.
Alexander-Arnold's packed football schedule and Iris' global modelling commitments were said to have put strain on their relationship.
