The Dane is poised to move to north London as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou

Thomas Frank is set to become the next manager of Tottenham after the north London giants agreed to pay Brentford a fee of £10million for their manager.

Spurs recently axed Ange Postecoglou, despite the Australian guiding them to Europa League glory at Manchester United's expense last month.

That decision has angered players behind the scenes at Tottenham, with many sad to see Postecoglou go despite their dismal form in the Premier League last term.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Frank will arrive as his replacement. Romano wrote on X: "Thomas Frank will become new Spurs head coach, here we go!

Before becoming a household name during his time at Brentford, Frank actually learned his trade in Denmark.

Having previously been a midfielder at amateur level, his coaching career started with the Under-8s team at hometown club Frederiksværk in 1995.

Frank moved to the U12 side two years later before roles at Hvidovre, B93 and Lyngby in 1998, 2004 and 2006 respectively.

The new Tottenham boss was then appointed as manager of the Denmark U16 and U17 teams in July 2008.

He later took charge of Denamrk's U19s and also worked as an assistant for the U18, U17, U16 and women's U17 teams on an ad-hoc basis.

Smart off the field - as well as on it

Frank has developed a reputation for being one of the smartest managers in the Premier League.

However, he's equally intelligent off it.

Frank holds a degree in Sports Science, which he worked hard for at the University of Copenhagen.

This has played a key role in how he conducts himself as manager, with Frank a big advocate for physical conditioning, sports psychology and tactical analysis when it comes to player development.

Furthermore, Frank is also known for a data-driven approach to football - something that has helped Brentford punch well above their weight in recent years.

Communication is vital for managers. No matter how many nationalities share a dressing room, the boss must always be clear on how they operate.

Fortunately, for Frank, that isn't a problem.

Frank is married to Nanna Theil Frank.

Little is known about their private life but the couple share three children together.

They previously lived in Denmark until moving to London in late 2016, when Frank was appointed Brentford manager.

He's shown resilience throughout his career

As a Premier League manager, fans could be forgiven for thinking Frank has had it easy in life.

That couldn't be further from the truth, however.

Before his success in the dugout, Frank struggled financially and even volunteered as a coach at Lyngby to get his career off the ground.

That resilience is why Tottenham have now decided to bring him to north London as they look to build on their Europa League triumph last month.
