Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior narrowly escaped disaster on Thursday morning, as his Madrid house was set ablaze.
Authorities were called to the residence in the La Moraleja neighbourhood of Alcobendas at around 11am on Thursday morning due to an electrical fire, according to Marca.
The fire is said to have begun in the sauna, located in the basement of the house, with the authorities appearing to find it completely burnt out.
While the rest of the house was filled with smoke, fortunately, there were no reported injuries or cases of smoke intoxication. Vinicius was away from the property at the time.
Two units from the Madrid Regional Fire Service were able to bring the blaze back under control within an hour of the initial call.
Early investigations suggest that a short circuit within the sauna room may have caused the fire.

The news comes during a tumultuous period for the Brazilian.
The winger has reportedly been dating Brazilian-American presenter and influencer Virginia Fonseca, who had been spotted watching him play at the Santiago Bernabeu against Villarreal last weekend.
However, the relationship is said to have ended after Vinicius was caught messaging another model.

He took to Instagram on Wednesday to issue a grovelling apology: “I am not ashamed to admit that I was careless, that I did not respond in the best possible way and that I let her down.
“We all go through moments that make us reflect and grow. I recently experienced a situation that made me reflect and recognise attitudes that did not represent who I want to be or the type of relationships I want to build.

“Virginia is an incredible woman, an admirable mother and someone I feel enormous affection and respect for.
“Since we met, he has come to Madrid three times to see me, leaving behind his routine, his commitments and his life just to be with me. I met an admirable mother and an amazing couple.

Vinicius Junior issued a grovelling apology on his Instagram
|“For this reason, I want to apologise publicly, with an open heart, because I understood that a true relationship only exists when there is respect, trust and transparency.
“The idea now is to restart everything. No lies, no fights, no masks. With a lot of love, affection and respect.”
At the time of the fire this morning, Vinicius was not at the residence as he is currently on international duty with Brazil in South Korea.
That trip had problems of its own, with one of the flights from Europe being forced to return to Amsterdam after a window cracked mid-flight, including Newcastle duo Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.
The 25-year-old is meeting up with teammates Eder Militao and Rodrygo, along with former boss Carlo Ancelotti, for the national team.
Vinicius was not included in the Selecao’s squad for September fixtures, and has scored just seven goals for his country, so he will be hoping to impress this time around, despite the chaos off the pitch.
