The full-back got his first win in a Real Madrid shirt on Sunday

Real Madrid centre-back Dean Huijsen has humbled fellow new signing Trent Alexander-Arnold with a hilarious comment on his Instagram post after their first win in a Real Madrid shirt.

Madrid’s Club World Cup campaign got off to a slow start, as they faltered to a 1-1 draw against Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, where Federico Valverde missed a late penalty.

However, Valverde would atone for his errors with a goal in Madrid’s second game, where they ran out 3-1 victors against Mexican side Pachuca on Sunday.

Despite going down to 10 men after just seven minutes when Huijsen’s centre-back partner Raul Asencio brought down former Everton striker Salomon Rondon while through on goal, the Spanish giants ran out comfortable victors.

A fabulous strike from Jude Bellingham, coupled with a brilliant team move smartly finished by Turkish youngster Arda Guler and Valverde tapping home a third confirmed new boss Xabi Alonso’s maiden victory for the club.

While Alexander-Arnold did not register his first assist in a Madrid shirt, his performance vastly improved from his first outing, and he took to social media to express his delight.

“First win in white! Hala Madrid,” he wrote.

With the 26-year-old letting out a visible roar in the post, Huijsen commented: “Close your mouth.”

Huijsen joined Alexander-Arnold in swapping the Premier League for Los Blancos this summer in a £50million move.

Joining Bournemouth for a fee of just £17million last year, the centre-back played 32 times for Bournemouth in the year they reached a record points haul.

Huijsen has played both Club World Cup games, along with Alexander-Arnold, and has looked assured and precise with his defensive capabilities and passing on the ball.

The 20-year-old was not the only teammate to comment on their first victory, with fellow England international Bellingham writing: “Cook.”

Former Manchester City midfielder Brahim Diaz also commented: “Let’s gooo mate.”

Alexander-Arnold will be hoping to settle in quickly, with veteran right-back Dani Carvajal shortly returning from a major anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered last year.

The full-back joined Real Madrid weeks before the expiry of his contract at Anfield, causing his new employers to pay Liverpool a reported fee of £10million to acquire his services early.

Real Madrid entered the Club World Cup as one of the favourites, and are looking to extend their record of five triumphs in the tournament.

With the club failing to win any major silverware this year, Alexander-Arnold will be looking to start as he means to go on, with a trophy.

Madrid’s next fixture is Red Bull Salzburg on Friday, and is the last fixture in the group stage.
