The Premier League is back, and after a long two weeks away for the international break, five matches kicked off for the 3pm window on Saturday, with a lot of action across the board.

There were wins for Manchester City, Burnley, Sunderland and Brighton - while Bournemouth and Crystal Palace produced a thrilling 3-3 draw. GB News takes you through the day.

Manchester City 2-0 Everton

Erling Haaland was left frustrated after struggling to retain possession of the ball in the first half, and he was visibly angry with his teammates as he tried to find the opening goal for his side.

City and Everton both had their chances in the first half of the game, with Jake O’Brien having his blushes spared as he nearly scored an own goal before it hit the woodwork.

Haaland almost found the breakthrough as he lifted a shot over Jordan Pickford, but he was unable to keep it between the posts.

Despite Everton holding strong, the power of Pep Guardiola’s side finally broke the deadlock.

Nico O’Reilly whipped in a cross, and despite not having much success with his feet, Haaland headed them in front before adding a second to secure victory.

Crystal Palace’s impressive start to the season came to a grinding halt as they faced Bournemouth.

Eli Kroupi was Oliver Glasner’s kryptonite as he scored two goals in the first half to send the supporters into chaos. Palace looked nothing like the team that had toppled Liverpool just a few weeks ago as they struggled to get the ball out of their defence, and the Cherries punished them for it.

Oliver Glasner’s side did claw one goal back after VAR intervened. Jean Philippe-Mateta was flagged for offside, but after the review, he was deemed to be onside. The goal spurred the Eagles on and he was able to slot home a second goal and level the game.

Ryan Christie thought he had sealed the win for the Cherries when he scored in the 89th minute, but the Eagles weren't done yet,

Mateta capped off his hat-trick with a penalty in the seventh minute of additional time to salvage a point.

BURNLEY 2-0 LEEDS

Burnley secured an unlikely win against Leeds, with Kyle Walker whipping in a wicked cross that Lesley Ugochukwu was able to head home to open the scoring for the Clarets.

Leeds had their opportunities to level the game, even hitting the post at one point, but they ultimately failed. An unexpected wonder strike from Loum Tchaouna saw him thunder a shot from outside the box into the top left corner to seal the three points.

Sunderland survived late pressure from Wolverhampton Wanderers to secure a crucial three points with a goal in the first half.

Nordi Mukiele scored the all-important goal in the 16th minute of the game to leave Wolves still waiting for their first win of the season.

He slotted home the ball past the Wolves goalkeeper, who will have serious questions asked about whether he could have done more to help his side. An own-goal by Landislav Krejčí sealed victory for the hosts.

Danny Welbeck proved to be the star of the show as his two goals secured the three points for Brighton in a hard-fought win against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle.

Welbeck scored the opener as he slotted home a chance in the box, before Nick Woltemande got his first away goal for Newcastle. However, it wasn’t enough for the Magpies as Welbeck came back again in the final 10 minutes to score his second.
