GB News takes you through the 2pm kick-offs on Sunday

Prior to Arsenal's crunch trip to West Ham, there were three 2pm games on Sunday.

Newcastle travelled to Nottingham Forest hoping to get the better of Vitor Pereira's side, who missed out on reaching the Europa League final in midweek.

Crystal Palace hosted Everton at Selhurst Park, just days after reaching the UEFA Conference League final.

And Aston Villa, who thumped Forest on Thursday night, travelled to a Burnley side already down and preparing for life in the Championship next season.

The biggest match of the day takes place at the London Stadium later today.

But in the meantime, GB News will now take you through Sunday's afternoon action.

Nottingham Forest edged closer to securing their Premier League status after Elliot Anderson struck against his former side Newcastle United to salvage a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

The midfielder, who departed St James' Park for Forest two summers ago, found the net in the 87th minute to move his current club seven points above the drop zone.

With just two fixtures remaining this season, Forest could confirm their survival later today should West Ham suffer defeat at home to Arsenal.

Vitor Pereira appears on the verge of completing his rescue mission since taking charge from Sean Dyche back in February.

Substitute Harvey Barnes had appeared to keep Newcastle's faint European ambitions alive when he capitalised on Jacob Ramsey's through ball, holding off defender Morato before finishing with 16 minutes on the clock.

The goal temporarily elevated the Magpies to ninth position, though they now find themselves in 13th place following a campaign that has failed to match last season's fifth-place finish and Carabao Cup triumph.

Bruno Guimaraes struck the crossbar with a free-kick and saw goalkeeper Matz Sels fumble an earlier effort, while Nick Pope denied Taiwo Awoniyi in the second period before Anderson converted James McAtee's delivery to rescue a point.

Crystal Palace substitute Jean-Philippe Mateta struck with 13 minutes remaining to rescue a 2-2 draw against Everton at Selhurst Park, dealing a blow to the Toffees' continental ambitions.

The French striker's powerful finish denied the visiting side what would have been a vital three points in their pursuit of European football.

Everton now sit 10th in the Premier League table, having squandered an opportunity to draw level with Brentford in eighth position ahead of their final two fixtures of the campaign.

Eighth place could potentially secure European qualification, depending on results in the FA Cup final and ongoing continental tournaments.

James Tarkowski gave the visitors an early advantage in the sixth minute, converting from close range after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's corner was flicked towards the far post.

Ismaila Sarr brought Palace level midway through the first half when his deflected strike beat Jordan Pickford in the 34th minute.

Everton regained their lead just two minutes after the interval through Beto, who held off Maxence Lacroix before slotting beneath Dean Henderson, before Mateta's late intervention.

Oliver Glasner's men, fresh from securing their Conference League final berth against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, now sit eight points clear of the relegation zone with their European showpiece awaiting.

Burnley 2-2 Aston Villa

Aston Villa's hopes of securing a place in next season's Champions League have been thrown into uncertainty following a disappointing 2-2 stalemate against Burnley, who had already been consigned to relegation.

The result means Villa, currently competing in the Europa League final stages, remain vulnerable to being overtaken by both Bournemouth and Brighton for fifth position with just two fixtures remaining in the campaign.

Unai Emery's side delivered a performance well below their usual standards at Turf Moor, struggling to impose themselves against opponents with nothing but pride to play for.

Burnley took a surprise lead when Jaidon Anthony reacted quickest to convert after Emiliano Martinez had pushed away Lesley Ugochukwu's strike from distance.

Ollie Watkins thought he had drawn Villa level, only for the flag to cut short celebrations due to an offside infringement.

Ross Barkley did restore parity, heading home from a John McGinn corner delivery.

The travelling faithful believed victory was secured when Watkins connected with a long distribution from Martinez to find the net, but Zian Flemming completed a slick Burnley passing move to claim their first point since March.

Villa's appeals for a late spot-kick, following Kyle Walker's challenge on Emiliano Buendia, were dismissed after VAR examination.
