Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stands to pocket between £50,000 and £60,000 per week should he take the reins at Manchester United on an interim basis.
The former striker, who was dismissed by the club in 2021, is among the leading candidates to guide the team through to the summer following Ruben Amorim's departure on Monday.
Should the 52-year-old remain in the dugout until the end of May, his total earnings would reach approximately £1million, according to Norwegian publication Nettavisen.
Michael Carrick is also being considered for the caretaker role, with reports suggesting the pair could potentially work in tandem at Old Trafford.
Beyond his weekly wage, a substantial performance-related bonus awaits the Norwegian should he deliver Champions League football.
United currently sit just two points adrift of the top four, and securing qualification for Europe's elite competition would trigger an additional payment of between £3m and £4m.
The incentive reflects the club's desperation to return to the Champions League after last season's dismal campaign under Amorim, which saw the Red Devils finish 15th – their worst Premier League era placing.

Despite the Portuguese manager's dismissal, he departed with the team still within striking distance of European qualification, leaving his potential successor with a realistic target to pursue.
Solskjaer's track record during his previous stint at Old Trafford provides grounds for optimism among supporters.
Across his two complete seasons in charge, the Norwegian secured consecutive top four finishes, guiding the side to third place in 2020 before improving to second the following campaign.
