Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has given his verdict

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has launched a scathing attack on Alejandro Garnacho following the club's Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Foster questioned whether the 20-year-old Argentine possesses the qualities required at Old Trafford. "I just want team players. I want a bunch of lads who are good, honest, hard working team players. And I don't get that vibe from Garnacho," Foster said.

The former goalkeeper suggested the club would benefit from selling the young winger. "I think for Man United it's best to ship [him] out," Foster stated, expressing views that align with manager Ruben Amorim's apparent stance on team unity.

Foster drew a stark contrast between Garnacho's post-match behaviour and that of Tottenham's Brennan Johnson.

"You look at the full-time whistle after the Europa League game," Foster said.

"You have Brennan Johnson doing an interview. He looks like he hasn't had a haircut for about three months, [hair] horrible all over the place, but his interview was incredible.

"You could tell he's a real nice lad, he's hard working, he does everything for the team.

"Then you look at Garnacho. Fresh trim a day ago, dyed blonde ready for the final.

"The full-time whistle goes, he's sat on the pitch sulking by himself, not trying to get behind the other lads, picking them up, saying 'well done we got this far'."

The tensions between Garnacho and Amorim became evident after the Europa League final, where the winger played just 20 minutes as a substitute.

Following the match, Garnacho admitted it had been a "s**t" season for the club, failing to conceal his frustration with the manager.

Amorim responded with a stark warning, telling the player he needs to "pray" he can find a new club, delivering this message in front of team-mates.

The relationship deteriorated further when Garnacho's brother and agent posted on Instagram that the winger had been "thrown under the bus" by the Portuguese manager.

The Argentine was subsequently excluded from United's squad for their final Premier League match against Aston Villa.

Garnacho's departure from Old Trafford appears increasingly likely, with his partner posting a cryptic message on social media before the Villa match.

She shared a picture of a baby-sized United kit with the words "last match", accompanied by a tearful emoji.

The winger's exit would represent pure profit under financial fair play regulations, given his academy background.
