A 29-year-old international footballer was taken into custody in central London during the early hours of Saturday morning following an alleged incident in the West End.
Metropolitan Police officers detained the player at the scene on Wardour Street on suspicion of two counts of assault and a single count of affray.

Following questioning, the player has been released on bail as detectives continue their enquiries into the matter.
A Met Police spokesman said: "A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of two counts of assault and one count of affray.
