Liverpool supporters made their feelings abundantly clear, not only booing Alexander-Arnold but also pointedly singing "There's only one Conor Bradley" as the youngster left the pitch.
"I think there are a lot more boos than there are cheers for Trent Alexander-Arnold if I'm being completely honest," noted former Liverpool full-back Stephen Warnock.
"I am surprised and a little bit disappointed with that, however Liverpool fans will feel that they are entitled to feel that way."

The goal stemmed from a powerful Martin Odegaard strike that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson could only parry.
Merino reacted quickest, diving to head the ball into the net.
There was a brief VAR check to determine whether Merino was onside, with replays confirming he was indeed played on by none other than Alexander-Arnold.
The defender's positioning proved costly as Arsenal completed their comeback at Anfield.
