Police have issued a stern warning against the use of flares at today's Liverpool FC victory parade after 17 people, including a police officer, were injured during yesterday's celebrations.
The injuries occurred as jubilant fans gathered ahead of Liverpool's final-game title celebrations at Anfield, where the Reds lifted the Premier League trophy after drawing 1-1 with Crystal Palace.
Hundreds of thousands of supporters are expected to descend on the city for the team's open-top bus parade this afternoon.
Red smoke filled the streets yesterday as eager fans celebrated the final matchday of the Premier League season, with Liverpool being crowned champions.

Merseyside Police confirmed that a quantity of pyrotechnics were seized from Arkles Lane, with a summons issued for the owner.
Four drones that were being flown over Anfield in breach of temporary air restrictions were also confiscated by authorities.
The force is continuing to urge people not to use flares or drones during today's victory parade, which is set to march from Allerton at 2:30pm.
Thousands are expected to line the 10-mile route.
The injuries sustained yesterday serve as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by unauthorised pyrotechnics at large public gatherings.

He emphasised the importance of considering everyone's safety amidst the party atmosphere in the city.
"The parade will have its own professionally organised special effects, including confetti canons and fireworks, which will be adding to the fantastic atmosphere in a safe and controlled manner and my urge would be for people to leave it to the professionals," Barnes added.
A temporary restricted airspace over part of the LFC Victory Parade route has been implemented from 9am to 10pm today.
The restriction covers Leeds Street, New Quay, Georges Dock Gate, Goree, Strand Street, Wapping, Chalenor Street and Sefton Street.

Drone users flying inside this zone without permission will be committing an offence and could face prosecution, as well as having their equipment seized.
Full details of the restrictions are available on the Civil Aviation Authority website.
Chief Inspector Barnes warned: "Using a drone in a busy area where thousands of people have gathered clearly has the potential to be dangerous and we will take robust action against any who chooses to ignore the restricted airspace."
