Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain have been embroiled in a bitter financial dispute.
The case, which reached a Paris labour court on Monday, has both parties presenting substantial monetary claims against each other.
The 26-year-old Real Madrid forward is seeking €263m (£231.5m) from his former club, whilst PSG has responded with a counter-claim for €240m (£211m).
The France captain, who was absent from the hearing, alleges the European champions owe him €55m (£46.3m) in unpaid wages alongside additional damages.
The tribunal hearing marks a significant escalation in the long-running conflict between the player and his former employers.
A ruling is anticipated within the coming weeks.
Mbappé's legal team argues his fixed-term contract should be reclassified as permanent employment, which would entitle him to compensation for unfair dismissal, unpaid wages, bonuses and severance pay.
The striker has also alleged moral harassment, undeclared work and violations of PSG's obligations regarding good faith and employee safety.

The player claims he was subjected to "lofting" - a French term describing the isolation of players from the main squad for various reasons.
PSG's counter-claim centres on €180m (£158.5m) for "loss of opportunity" following Mbappé's rejection of a €300m transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in January 2023.
The club maintains the player acted dishonestly by hiding his decision not to extend his contract for nearly eleven months between July 2022 and June 2023, preventing them from arranging a transfer.

PSG said in a statement: "Before the court, the club presented evidence showing that the player acted disloyally by concealing for nearly eleven months, between July 2022 and June 2023, his decision not to extend his contract, thereby depriving the club of any possibility of arranging a transfer.
"The player then challenged an agreement concluded with the club in August 2023, which provided for a reduction in salary should he decide to leave on a free transfer, in order to preserve the club's financial stability following the exceptional investment made."
Mbappe's camp replied that PSG never produced any evidence of an agreement to waive these payments.
The French champions are also seeking damages for breaches of good faith and harm to their reputation.

The conflict originated when Mbappé declined to extend his contract with PSG and was subsequently excluded from first-team activities ahead of the 2023/24 season.
PSG claims a verbal agreement existed whereby the player would forfeit bonuses in exchange for reinstatement to the squad.
However, Mbappé's representatives maintain that no evidence of such an arrangement has been produced.
The forward eventually departed for Real Madrid without a transfer fee in the summer of 2024, having netted a club record 256 goals and secured six Ligue 1 titles during his seven-year tenure at the Parc des Princes.
His move to the Spanish giants followed PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi's frustration at missing out on a substantial transfer fee.
