Broadcaster Jeff Stelling has resigned as honorary president of Hartlepool United in protest over owner Raj Singh's handling of the club's takeover process.
The 70-year-old, who is also a minority shareholder in the National League side, announced his decision on social media.
Stelling, a high-profile supporter of the club, expressed his disappointment with the current state of Hartlepool's takeover negotiations.
His resignation comes after Singh issued a statement regarding the potential sale of the club, which appears to have been the final straw for the veteran TV presenter.

In a series of posts on his X account, Stelling wrote: "Following Raj's latest statement, I have resigned as president of @Official_HUFC.
"I know this is only an honorary role, but it is the best way I felt I could protest against the treatment of the party trying to take control the club."
He added: "Supporters have been left in an intolerable position with a perceived threat to the future of the club should they not support the current owner.
"Let's remember it was him who wanted to stop funding the club. Yet now he seems almost affronted that others want to take over."
Stelling also noted he had not been consulted despite being a shareholder.

Singh initially put Hartlepool up for sale in April 2023 following the club's relegation from the Football League at the end of the 2022-23 season.
He subsequently stood down as chairman in March 2025 amid fan protests as the club finished 11th in the National League.
According to a club statement issued on Wednesday evening, an agreement with a potential buyer had been reached in March, but proof of funds for next season has yet to be deposited.

The club also revealed plans to poll season-ticket holders over whether Singh should resume control.
Local businesswoman Shelley Hammond, who has been linked with a takeover, had suggested a deal was close.
The club had assured fans it would not change hands until after the 2024/25 season's end, with Singh promising to cover player and staff wages until then.
However, the prolonged sale saga has created uncertainty around Hartlepool's future.

"Not once have I been consulted about this even though I am a shareholder," Stelling continued in his statement.
"I have not met the would-be buyers, but I do know they have been trying to buy this club for over a year - not the actions of time-wasters."
He concluded his statement by saying: "I will always love this club and wish all our fans the best."
