Jamie Carragher has faced calls to be sacked from his role as a pundit and co-commentator at Sky Sports after his controversial comments during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Scott Parker’s side looked certain to grab a priceless point against the champions but it would be a familiar feeling for the former Fulham boss, who saw his side concede a penalty with merely seconds left on the clock, as had been the case at Old Trafford last month.

"[Referee Michael Oliver] was in a good position to see it.

Despite the controversy, Liverpool would extend their 100 per cent Premier League record this year to four games and find themselves at the summit of the table.
Carragher was not left impressed by his former team’s performance, though, claiming: "If Liverpool play like that, they won't be winning games every week.”
