Ricky Hatton: Tributes pour in for British boxing icon after death aged 46

The British boxing world is mourning the loss of Ricky Hatton this morning, after he was found dead in his home at 46 years old.
The former world champion was discovered at his residence in Hyde, Greater Manchester.
Police were summoned to Bowlacre Road at 6.45am on Sunday, where they discovered the body.
Greater Manchester Police have stated that no suspicious circumstances surround the death.
A police cordon remains in place at the property in Gee Cross.
According to reports, concerns arose when the boxing legend failed to attend an event featuring one of his fighters on Saturday evening.
The Manchester-born fighter, affectionately known as "The Hitman", was among Britain's most celebrated and beloved boxers, having captured multiple world championships during his illustrious career.
Hatton's remarkable career saw him secure world titles across two weight divisions, claiming two championships at light-welterweight and another at welterweight.

His exceptional performances earned him Fighter of the Year recognition in 2005 from prestigious boxing authorities, including Ring magazine, the Boxing Writers Association of America, and ESPN.
Throughout his 15-year professional journey, the aggressive and courageous fighter compiled an impressive record of 45 victories from 48 contests.
His career featured memorable triumphs over formidable opponents, including Russia's Kostya Tszyu and Jose Luis Castillo.
However, the Mancunian also experienced devastating defeats against boxing legends Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

| PAThe boxing community and sporting world have united in grief, with heartfelt messages pouring in for the former champion.
Tyson Fury paid his respects: "RIP to the legend Ricky Hatton, may he RIP. There will only ever be one Ricky Hatton. Can’t believe this. So young."
Former England footballer Michael Owen paid tribute, stating: "RIP Ricky Hatton. What a guy. And what a fighter. Incredibly sad news."
Ring Magazine, which honoured Hatton as their super-lightweight champion, shared their condolences: "The Ring is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Ring Magazine super-lightweight champion, Ricky Hatton.
"Our deepest sympathies are with Ricky's friends and family at this time."

Fellow British boxer Amir Khan delivered a poignant tribute that addressed the mental health battles many fighters face, something that Hatton himself had been very open about.
"Today we lost not only one of Britain’s greatest boxers, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton," Khan wrote.
"As fighters, we tell ourselves we’re strong, we train, we sweat, we take hits, we get up. But sometimes the hardest fight happens in silence, in the mind.
"Mental health isn’t weakness. It’s part of being human. And we must talk about it. We must reach out. We must lean on each other.
"Ricky, thank you for everything. For your fights, your moments of glory, your grit. Thank you for pushing us, showing us what’s possible.
"To everyone reading this: if you’re hurting or struggling, you are not alone. Talk. Reach out. Because we need more light, more compassion, more understanding.

Hatton had been candid about his battles with mental health issues and substance abuse. Despite these challenges, he was preparing for a return to professional boxing, with a bout scheduled for December in Dubai.
Following his retirement from competing, Hatton transitioned into training other fighters.
He leaves behind a son, Campbell, and was known as a devoted Manchester City supporter who had planned to attend today's derby match at the Etihad Stadium.
