Jack Grealish marked his strong start to life at Everton with an off-field celebration in Stockholm, where he enjoyed a lengthy evening out at an Irish pub with friends.

The England international, currently on a season-long loan from Manchester City, has quickly established himself as a key figure under David Moyes.

After assisting both goals in Everton’s 2-0 win over Brighton on the opening weekend, Grealish followed up with two more assists in a thrilling 3-2 victory away to Wolves.

His creativity has helped the Toffees make a flying start, and supporters are already embracing his impact on Merseyside.

With no call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, Grealish made use of the international break with a trip to Sweden.

On Sunday, he was spotted at The Auld Dub, a well-known Irish pub in central Stockholm, where he settled in to watch Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on TV.

Mattias Mete, a former footballer now working at the bar, described the unexpected visit.

“He was here to visit,” Mete told local reporters.

“It was a bit shocking to see him come in. You saw him play on Saturday, and then all of a sudden he appeared here out of nowhere.

“They were here from 4pm until closing time, so about six or seven hours.

"They ate, watched the Liverpool–Arsenal match and really enjoyed the atmosphere. He was happy, relaxed, and took a picture with me.

"You didn’t want to disturb them too much, but they had a good time.”

Grealish, who joined City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a club-record £100million, struggled at times to secure a consistent starting role under Pep Guardiola.

His switch to Everton is widely seen as an opportunity to regain form and rhythm ahead of next summer’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Early signs suggest he is thriving, with four assists in just two matches.

The 29-year-old also has close ties to Ireland through his grandparents and represented the Republic at youth level before switching allegiance to England in 2016.

He has since earned 39 senior caps but finds himself temporarily out of favour at international level, with Tuchel preferring younger options for the current qualifiers.

For Everton fans, however, his presence could prove transformative in their bid to challenge for a top-six finish this season.

Moyes’ team have started the campaign full of energy, and Grealish’s ability to unlock defences has been central to their success.

His next test will be an emotionally charged one, as Everton host his former club Aston Villa after the international break.
