Real Madrid have agreed to pay Liverpool £10 million to secure Trent Alexander-Arnold's early release from his contract, preventing what would have been a free transfer.
The deal allows the England defender to join the Spanish giants on 1st June, a full 29 days before his Liverpool contract expires on 30th June.
The arrangement ensures Alexander-Arnold will be available for Real Madrid's Club World Cup campaign in the United States.
Madrid's Club World Cup opener against Al-Hilal is scheduled for 18th June, with the tournament offering $100 million in prize money to participating clubs.

Liverpool will bank approximately £345,000 per day from the early release arrangement, totalling the £10 million fee over the 29-day period.
The transfer will be completed when the summer window briefly opens on 1st June, remaining open until 10th June specifically to allow clubs to strengthen ahead of the Club World Cup.
Madrid's initial offer of £850,000 was rejected by Liverpool before the Spanish club agreed to the £10 million fee.
Liverpool will also save on Alexander-Arnold's wages and bonuses for June, as these costs transfer to Real Madrid upon completion of the deal.
Madrid will face Al-Hilal, Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg in Group H of the Club World Cup tournament.

Alexander-Arnold departs Anfield after 354 appearances and 23 goals for Liverpool, having lifted eight major honours including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups.
