A football supporter has died after plummeting from the stands during the Nations League final between Spain and Portugal at Munich's Allianz Arena on Sunday evening.
The tragic incident occurred when the man, who was from Bavaria's Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, fell from the middle tier of the stadium. He tumbled into the lower tier before landing on a staircase in the media area.
Emergency medical personnel rushed to assist the supporter, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The fatal fall happened during what was meant to be a celebratory occasion, with Portugal ultimately defeating Spain 5-3 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in regular time.
