The Three Lions will be hoping to secure another two victories amid their quest to secure glory

England boss Lee Carsley has reportedly made another bold decision ahead of his side's Nations League clashes against Greece and Finland.

The Three Lions interim boss will be hoping to guide his side to two more victories, having overseen wins over the Republic of Ireland and Finland last month.

Carsley wasn't afraid to roll the dice when he was given the keys to Wembley.

The likes of Angel Gomes and Morgan Gibbs-White were picked, despite the pair previously being overlooked by Gareth Southgate.

One player who hasn't been called up in seven years is Dominic Solanke.

Yet The Athletic say the Tottenham star is set to be rewarded for his recent impressive form by being named in Carsley's squad.

The forward failed to score during his first three games for the north London giants after touching down from Bournemouth back in the summer transfer window.

But the ex-Bournemouth, Liverpool and Chelsea forward has started to come good with three goals from as many matches.

Solanke's latest goal came on Sunday, with Spurs cruising to a 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

His only senior appearance for his country came all the way back in 2017 when he came off the bench during a friendly showdown between England and Brazil.

The report says James Maddison and Jarrod Bowen will join Solanke in the squad.

And Chelsea's Levi Colwill has made the cut, with Harry Maguire left out following a difficult start to the season with United.

England made a strong start to life under Carsley last month.

They beat the Republic of Ireland 2-0 in his first match following goals from Declan Rice and Jack Grealish.

And they then followed that up with a 2-0 victory over Finland, with Harry Kane netting a brilliant brace.

Carsley is currently in charge on a temporary basis following the departure of Southgate, who walked away after his side's failure to win the European Championships back in the summer.

But whether he lands the job on a permanent basis remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, former England star Paul Scholes was recently asked about the possibility of Carsley being named as Southgate's permanent replacement.

And the ex-Manchester United star delivered a brutal assessment, saying he can't see Carsley being the man to finally end the country's wait for a major trophy.

"I think the prestige of the England job has gone a little bit," he said.

"I think employing somebody who has just coached the Under-21’s, who is a coach, don’t get me wrong and he’s probably a good coach, I don’t know him, but I think England need a proper manager - not somebody who has had experience in the Under-21’s and done well with whatever age group.

"It’s that important a job that it has to be an experienced manager.

"There’s a brilliant squad there with England, an absolutely brilliant squad, really talented.

"I think they need the manager who lives up to that, he has to be of that stature and I just think, I can’t see Lee Carsley getting England over the line [in the big games]."
