Former Liverpool and Newcastle United midfielder Danny Guthrie has started a new job, three years after being declared bankrupt.
The ex-Premier League footballer has secured a position as technical director at Al Hadha Football Academy in the United Arab Emirates.
The 38-year-old, who represented both Liverpool and Newcastle during his playing career, takes on this new role whilst still subject to a bankruptcy order that extends until May 2028.
The appointment marks a significant development for Guthrie, whose financial difficulties emerged when he was unable to settle a £100,000 debt to businessman Chris Heath.

The loan, originally provided to assist with a property purchase, remained unpaid despite the subsequent sale of the house, leading to the six-year bankruptcy arrangement.
Heath, who provided the funds to help Guthrie acquire a property, expressed feeling "very let down" by the situation. Despite the property being sold, the borrowed sum was never returned to the businessman.

"I had no choice but to make him bankrupt," Heath stated regarding his decision to pursue legal action against the former footballer.
The bankruptcy proceedings resulted in a six-year order against Guthrie, who had accepted the terms. Court records indicated that Guthrie's registered address was in Dubai at the time of the bankruptcy declaration.
