Cole Palmer appeared to be furious with Donald Trump for being in the way of Chelsea players as they celebrated their Club World Cup triumph on Sunday night.

The Blues dispatched their Ligue 1 rivals with ease, with Palmer scoring twice and Joao Pedro also on target as they secured victory.


After the game, Chelsea players celebrated jubilantly.

Reece James, the club captain, lifted the trophy aloft while his team-mates jumped for joy around him.

Palmer, however, has gone viral after appearing to be angry at Trump for standing in the way.

The Chelsea star seemed to mouth the words 'what is he doing?' as the US President refused to budge.

Fans on social media were left amused by the incident. One X user said: "I LOVE COLE PALMER. SAYING WHY IS TRUMP HERE."

A second said: "I mean to be fair, why is he there? He's not part of the team. He can take photos after."

A third stated: "I had the same reaction."

And another fan commented: "I'm crying. He cracks me up."

Meanwhile, Palmer spoke out after the game with the Chelsea star insisting the Blues had silenced many of their critics following their triumph in America.

"Obviously it's a great feeling," said the England international. "Even better because obviously everyone doubted us before the game.

"I like finals and it happened again.

"The gaffer put a great game plan out. He knew where the space was going to be. I just had to repay him and score some goals.

"He's building something special, something important.

"I feel like we are going in the right direction."

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca also spoke out, with the Italian hailing Palmer for his outstanding display.

"Today we found a position for him where there was space to attack," he added.

"I'm happy for Cole but the effort from all the players has been fantastic.

"[I have] no words for the players. They deserve it. It's a good moment."
