GB News sports editor Jack Otway takes a look at Saturday's showdown at Turf Moor, with the Blues securing all three points

Chelsea beat Burnley 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, with winger Pedro Neto and midfielder Enzo Fernandez finding the net as they boosted their chances of Premier League glory with a much-needed win.

The Blues had been aiming to bounce back after a shock home defeat to Sunderland prior to the international break.

And the west London giants did exactly that, with Neto heading home a pinpoint delivery from Jamie Gittens to head home before Enzo made the result safe late on.

Burnley huffed and puffed but, in the end, were forced to accept defeat. GB News now takes a look at four talking points from the game.

Neto continues to shine

Chelsea are currently without talisman Cole Palmer, who is also set to miss upcoming crunch clashes with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal.

The England international's last outing for his club was in a disappointing 2-1 loss away at Manchester United back in September.

But Neto, ever since, has risen to the occasion.

The former Wolves star, who moved to west London back in the summer transfer window of 2020, took his goal brilliantly and was the best player on the pitch.

Had it not been for the woodwork, he would have doubled his side's advantage - with his effort cannoning off the post instead.

No Palmer, no problem. Neto is starting to look the real deal and Chelsea will be hopeful he can continue to shine in the coming weeks ahead.

Liam Delap has another day to forget

Chelsea had high hopes when they signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town back in the summer, with the striker initially impressing at the Club World Cup.

However, the striker has been plagued by injuries and, at the current moment in time, looks out of his depth.

Delap was extremely subdued against Burnley, with Scott Parker's side able to nullify him with ease.

The No 9 shirt has worn heavily on many players over the years at Stamford Bridge. Right now, Delap appears to be struggling with the expectation on his shoulders.

Burnley will be furious

In the first-half of the match, controversy struck.

Robert Sanchez passed the ball to Trevoh Chalobah, appearing to be restarting play after a brief pause.

Chalobah didn't seem to understand what was happening, however, with the defender touching the ball with his hand before passing it back to his goalkeeper.

Burnley felt they should have had a penalty - and they have a point.

Tyrone Mings was penalised for a similar offence while playing for Aston Villa against Club Brugge in the Champions League last season.

How costly that error proves to be come the end of the campaign in May remains to be seen.

Chelsea won't win the league

Chelsea's victory moves them up to second in the table, just three points behind Arsenal.

However, they won't be winning the title this season.

Chelsea just don't look good enough. They made extremely hard work of Burnley, despite the hosts looking devoid of ideas in attack.

The table, certainly, doesn't tell the whole story.
