Following the friendly, the player appeared in some discomfort as he headed towards the dugout, flanked by medical staff.
Gabriel returned to Arsenal's north London training ground for treatment, withdrawing from international duties and missing a friendly against Tunisia on Tuesday.
He could potentially face having to sit on the sidelines until January, the Daily Mail reports.
