Alan Shearer and Gary Neville are among pundits to have recently been given lessons on 'the laws of football', according to reports.
Shearer works for the BBC, while Neville is currently employed by Sky Sports.
Premier League chiefs have grown frustrated at commentary gaffes, according to The Sun, with action now taken on the matter.
It's claimed a number of pundits were invited on a conference call with PGMOL chief Howard Webb and the Premier League's director of operations, Tony Scholes, in July.

This is because the Prem want broadcasters to be 'fully informed over how VAR will operate this season'.
They were frustrated by errors made by commentators and pundits when discussing the system last season.
Over 70 pundits were invited on the conference call, with Neville and Shearer among those to attend.
Webb provided reminders on the laws of the game, as well as interpretations by referees. He also discussed the changes to VAR, with Scholes 'giving an update on various off-field issues including the football calendar'.

Premier League chiefs want to use VAR less this season and back their referees more.
Webb is reportedly committed to 'greater transparency' and has vowed to give fans more big-screen replays in stadiums to further justify any decisions made.
They will also offer 'near-live' explanations of VAR calls on social media to further ease the pressure on matchday officials.
There are other changes afoot in the Premier League this season, too.

It will be powered by artificial intelligence and promises to 'minimise breaks' and 'deliver accuracy'.
