Toto Wolff makes Lewis Hamilton feelings clear after difficulties at F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

And George Russell could only secure eighth, having started the day among the favourites to reign supreme.

Red Bull secured a 20th triumph of the season, with Max Verstappen clocking up yet another race win in the process.

Hamilton was struck by Carlos Sainz Jr during the event, with the Brit only able to manage a seventh-placed finish as a result.

Wolff, however, doesn't blame the Briton and insists they must regroup and secure podium finishes at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next weekend.

"Not his fault. Sad to say yet another time we had pace but just no result," the Austrian said.

"I wouldn't change a lot [about the Vegas GP].

"I would change qualifying maybe from midnight to 10pm, like the race start.

"So you can still have the roads open long at Vegas and have dinner for the fans. Other than that, it was a perfect event.

"We have seen pace-ish today. I think we can hopefully recover and score solid podiums."

Hamilton also spoke out - with the Mercedes star admitting he found the Vegas GP 'challenging'.

"A really challenging race.

"I started on the hard tyre which was tricky at the beginning. I got a big hit from someone behind, I think it was Carlos [Sainz], and tried to not hit the cars that had spun around.

"I fell back five or six places.

"Then after that just making my way back. I was feeling great, the tyres were feeling good, the pace was strong.

"I went up the inside of Piastri, I don't really know exactly what happened, I obviously got the hit from behind. I think it was a racing incident."

Mercedes star George Russell could only finish eighth.

And the 25-year-old was disappointed that he couldn't challenge Verstappen for supremacy, having collided with the Red Bull driver during the race.

"We (himself and Leclerc) both braked quite late and I just ran out of grip, so we ended up a bit wide.

"The stewards gave me a penalty for that and it put us on the back foot.

"I had to pass quite a few cars and there was the Safety Car, so at that point there was a lot going on.

"Then we went flat out. I had to pass a few cars to get into the battle with them.

"The DRS around here was very powerful. Even when you would take the lead, if the guy behind stays in the DRS, he would still have the opportunity to come back to you, so it created a lot of good racing today.

"I think when you have a fast car, luck is always on your side and when you're on the back foot, luck is never on your side.

"Ultimately, we just need to keep on pushing, go into next week and see what we can do."
