Chris Woakes is in an 'immense amount of pain' following his decision to come out to bat for England in their series draw with India on Monday.
The all-rounder emerged for the clash at the Oval with his arm in a sling, having suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the Test.
Ultimately, England were unable to get the job done against India - with the tourists winning by six runs to level the series.
England coach Brendon McCullum has now opened up following the contest and provided an update on Woakes, whose bravery will be discussed for many years to come.

"Good on Woakesy, he is in an immense amount of pain. He was never in doubt that if needed he would walk down the stairs and try get us across the line.
"We will assess him over the coming days get some more information and work out what the plan is from there."
McCullum also said the series had been one to remember, too, with the England coach taking the positives despite the draw.
"Not just an incredible hour - right throughout this Test match, it has been one of the all-time best Test matches," he said.
"We turned up today with high hopes, but Mohammed Siraj and the passion of the Indian boys was too strong and ultimately they deserve to win this Test match.
"We had our chances we will look back on our dropped catches and the position we were in with the bat. You have to tip your caps sometimes, a guy playing in his fifth Test match bowling 30 overs, and 90mph to get the job done - fair play.
"You never expect things to go according to plan.
