Viewers have been unimpressed with audio issues

Netflix viewers have vented their annoyance on social media with the streaming platform's coverage of Jake Paul's crunch clash with Anthony Joshua in Florida.

The bout will take place in the early hours of Saturday morning, with ringwalks expected at around 3.30am BST.

However, coverage started at 1am with Kate Scott, Lennox Lewis, Laila Ali and Andre Ward all speaking on the desk.

Yet the streaming platform experienced some early teething issues, with the audo irking viewers tuning in.

Whenever presenters or guests spoke, the words weren't in sync with the video on the screen. One user fumed: "You would think they would do several audio tests prior to one of their biggest productions but nah they just decided to wing it."

A second hit out by saying: "Sorry Netflix but leave live stuff to the professionals, can’t even get the audio and mouth movement the same… #netflix."

Another wrote: "The audio isn’t matching the visual on this #JakeJoshua stream on @netflix. I'm surprised it's so amateur."

For Paul, the bout at the Kaseya Center in Florida represents a chance to truly establish himself on the big stage.

Though his clash with Mike Tyson was watched by millions in November last year, the fact he even agreed to face the veteran in the first place prompted a huge backlash.

Paul's sole defeat of his career came against Tommy Fury in 2023.

Meanwhile, for Joshua, his decision to face a former YouTuber has raised eyebrows.

The 36-year-old is a two-time world champion but hasn't fought since losing to Daniel Dubois in just five rounds in September 2024.

Joshua said earlier this week that he would 'kill' Paul, with his choice of language drawing criticism from some corners.

He doubled down on those claims on Thursday, however, insisting that he's out to prove a point to those who have questioned his quality as he approaches the twilight years of his career.

"It's my job, we fight. We have a licence to kill," he insisted. "I'm sure many people don't understand it but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do.

"Whatever happens, happens - as long as my hand is raised, that's what's important, respectfully.

"That's just what the mentality we have to have as fighters. I don't know if other fighters think that way. Maybe they're a bit more tame.

"The way my mind works. When you're in the ring, it's a dangerous thing. Anything can happen.

"You hope your opponent leaves the ring safely, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed knowing you just did your job. It wasn't personal."
