Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn meet in a rematch on Saturday night

A peculiar pre-fight drama unfolded tonight when Chris Eubank Jr and his father found themselves trapped in a malfunctioning lift whilst heading to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The incident occurred just hours before the highly anticipated bout against Conor Benn.

The 36-year-old boxer maintained his composure throughout the ordeal, even managing to flash a smile.

He quipped: "The sabotage begins again, our lift doesn't work. It's okay."

The evening's preliminary fights were already underway at the stadium when the Eubanks encountered this unexpected setback.

Their journey to the venue came to an abrupt halt when the elevator refused to budge.

Eubank Sr responded to the situation with characteristic philosophical flair, declaring: "Everything that happens, happens for our own good."

His son seized the moment to send a message to his opponent. "You can stop the lifts, you can stop the cars from coming in, but you cannot change your fate my friend," he said.

The middleweight fighter didn't hold back, warning: "That a*** beating is coming. That schooling is hours away."

Eventually, someone from their entourage broke the tense wait by announcing they'd need to use the stairs. The group abandoned the stuck lift and made their way up on foot.

The father-son duo eventually made it to the packed stadium, where enthusiastic fans erupted in cheers.

The crowd went particularly wild when they spotted Eubank Sr walking behind his son, known by his Next Gen moniker.

The Eubanks have plenty of reasons to feel confident heading into tonight's rematch.

The middleweight boxer enters as the bookmakers' favourite, having secured a convincing victory over Benn in their previous encounter.

Their first meeting in April saw Eubank Jr dominate the contest, earning a unanimous decision from all three judges. Tonight's bout promises to be another thrilling chapter in their rivalry.
