EXCLUSIVE: The British boxing legend has opened up ahead of Saturday night's seismic showdown at Wembley

David Haye has paid Oleksandr Usyk the ultimate compliment ahead of this weekend's bout between the Ukrainian and Daniel Dubois at Wembley.

All eyes will be on the pair when they step out in the capital, two years on from their first fight.

Usyk won that showdown but there was controversy, with Dubois penalised for what had been perceived to be a low blow.

Though he appealed, his pleas were dismissed, with Usyk awarded the victory in a moment that left both Dubois and his manager, Frank Warren, furious.

Since then, Usyk hasn't looked back.

He beat Tyson Fury twice last year, with the Ukrainian emerging victorious from their first clash in May before winning their second contest in December.

Haye, when asked if Usyk was the most talented boxer of his generation, was firm in his response.

Speaking exclusively to GB News, via Highbet, he said: "Absolutely he is. There was talk of Fury being the best of his generation, but then he has two losses to Usyk.

"So Usyk as now beaten two of Britain's finest heavyweight boxers in [Anthony Joshua and Fury, so you have to look at Usyk and 100 per cent put him in that generational talent [list].

"He has also come up from cruiserweight, unbeaten and has fought away from home in England and on neutral ground as well.

"He ranks as one of the all time greats for sure."

While Dubois lost their first clash two years ago, he's risen in the time since. Last September, he emphatically beat Anthony Joshua to send shockwaves around the world.

As a result, Haye expects Usyk to be pushed to his limits.

"What happens on Saturday could be the toughest fight for Usyk and if he comes out undefeated then arguably the best of a generation," he added.

"But you go through generations and Usyk has delivered big time on the biggest stage and against multiple champions."

Usyk is the overwhelming favourite to secure victory at Wembley this Saturday.

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

Dubois, though he pushed him close two years ago, is consequently preparing for the biggest challenge of his career.

Haye isn't dismissive of his fellow Briton's chances of victory, however. He thinks Dubois can capitalise, due to the 27-year-old being 11 years Usyk's junior, and can foresee a stoppage victory.

"This is going to be some fight. Here we go! Dubois has to play to his strengths and keep on the attack," continued the 44-year-old.

"He must get inside, take some hits, but deliver his big blows to wear Usyk down.

"It’s so important for Dubois not to let Usyk fight the bout he wants and get breathers during rounds.

"Technically, Usyk is the better fighter and can outbox Dubois and win on points. But Usyk is not a young man any more and has had many long camps, he has two fights with Joshua, two fights with Fury and these take it out of you.

"He faces a much younger man, heavy-hitting as well. So if Dubois can start quickly and keep up the physical power, then he can win by stoppage for sure.

"If Usyk can manage to slow Dubois down, not get hit by big blows, then he can secure scoring points to win that way."
