Sarah Ferguson reflected on the "precious time" she shared with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's young children in a social media post.
The doting Duchess of York has three grandchildren, Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, and August and Ernest Brooksbank.
The former working royal marked Children's Author Week by recalling the "magic" she would create with Beatrice and Princess Eugenie during their childhood.
The duchess added that this had been passed down to her three grandchildren.

On Instagram, Fergie wrote: "#ChildrensAuthorWeek! I feel very lucky to be able to call myself a children's book author as a mother and now as a grandmother!
"Creating magic with my girls when they were young is what brought many of my children's book characters to life.
"Being able to now share that with my grandchildren and with children around the world has been an unbelievably special gift.
"Every time I pick up one of my children's books, I can feel all of that precious time spent together."
Sarah Ferguson is the author of several children’s books including Ballerina, Tea for Ruby, the Little Red series as well as a memoir, Finding Sarah.
She has also published adult books including Her Heart for a Compass and A Most Intriguing Lady.
These novels are historical dramas loosely based on Fergie’s ancestors Lady Margaret Montagu Scott and Lady Mary Montagu Douglas Scott.
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi share a two-year-old daughter Sienna.

Princess Eugenie and son August Brooksbank
Edoardo also has a seven-year-old son, Christopher Woolf, from a previous relationship who is affectionally called Wolfie.
Princess Eugenie has two sons, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
Fans voiced their support for the duchess and sent their best wishes following her recent skin cancer diagnosis.
One Twitter/ X user commented: “I read your first two books to my boys every night before bed. They loved them.”
