The charity's spokesman has issued a fresh statement

Sarah Ferguson has suffered a major blow as her charity is set to close "for the foreseeable future", just days after the latest set of Epstein allegations emerged.

Sarah’s Trust, which launched in June 2020, has announced it will close “for the foreseeable future”.

This comes days after new revelations emerged about the former duchess’s friendship with the late paedophile financier, Jeffrey Epstein.

Ferguson's charity was set up as her own foundation to provide aid, including delivering food, personal protective equipment and other essentials to NHS, care home, and hospice staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The charity subsequently supported vulnerable communities in the UK and abroad.

A spokesman for Sarah’s Trust said on Monday evening: “Our chair Sarah Ferguson and the board of trustees have agreed that with regret the charity will shortly close for the foreseeable future.

“This has been under discussion and in train for some months.

“We remain extremely proud of the work of the trust over recent years.

"We have partnered with over 60 other charities in over 20 countries, providing education, healthcare, crisis response and environmental projects.

“We delivered over 150,000 aid parcels during the Covid pandemic, provided medical aid and training for those affected by the war in Ukraine and delivered education for over 200 children in Ghana.”

The closure follows months of mounting scrutiny surrounding Ferguson’s past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

The scrutiny re-intensified in September 2025 after historic emails resurfaced showing her using warm and affectionate language about the convicted sex offender years after his conviction.

At the time, a spokesman for Ferguson said she had “spoken of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago” and stressed that “as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims”.

The spokesman also sought to contextualise a gushing 2011 email to Epstein, saying it had been written on advice after Epstein threatened legal action.

He reiterated Ferguson’s earlier public comments in which she described the relationship as a “terrible, terrible error of judgment” and said she “abhorred paedophilia”.

Despite that response, an avalanche of charities ended their associations with Ferguson in autumn 2025, citing reputational concerns.

Since then, she has not issued any new personal public statement addressing the renewed attention on her correspondence with Epstein.

Scrutiny intensified again on January 30, 2026, when the US Department of Justice released more than three million additional pages of Epstein-related material following a court-ordered disclosure process.

The newly published documents included further references to Ferguson, prompting fresh headlines and renewed pressure on organisations linked to the former duchess.
