Zara Tindall has claimed victory in a "cracking game" of polo as she beat Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's close friends.

Joining up with teammates Billy Slater and Ruki Baillieu, Zara's team won with a scoreline of 12-10, taking home the trophy for her team, Champagne Pommery AU.

Despite the efforts of Harry's pal Nacho Figueras and Meghan's friend, Delphina Blaquier, Princess Anne's daughter's side was triumphant.

Magic Millions posted photos on its social media of their victory, showcasing Zara, 44, donning the team's colours in blue and white as she glided across the field on her horse.

One supporter posted on Mike Tindall's social media: "Your wife is amazing!"

Their praise comes as the couple ventured off to the Gold Coast of Australia for the Magic Millions Carnival.

Earlier this week, they were seen hanging out with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's close friends.

Meghan and Harry's pals were photographed with the Tindalls at an exhibition featuring equine artist Nicole Slater.

The group are all ambassadors for the foundation, with Zara and Mike having been involved for 10 years.

Following the event, Mr Figueras wrote on social media: "A very special night honouring women. Among the beautiful solo exhibition by the talented Nicola Slater, who also portrayed some of our horses back in Argentina."

Before the fixture today, Princess Anne's daughter laughed off a question about her competitive streak after Mike teased her about facing Mr Figueras and his wife, Ms Blaquier, in the match.

Speaking in a Seven Horse Racing interview after landing in Australia for the Magic Millions Carnival, the pair discussed Zara's plans to compete in showjumping and polo.

Asked if she would be "show jumping again and playing polo", Zara replied: "I'm doing both again.

"And yes, I'm in the Off The Track class, which is incredible. I'm jumping in that class, which is great.

"And then polo in the afternoon against Nacho and Delphina, the other ambassadors. So it's a fun-packed day. It's a very busy day. But it's incredible, and people get to be right up close to the horses."

Mike then quizzed his wife about her record against the Sussexes' friends. "Have you beaten Nacho or Delphina yet?" he joked.

Zara winced before replying: "Yes, but not for a few years. So it's a bit…" as Mike cut in: "It's turning into a good match!"

The interviewer then asked Zara if she was competitive, to which she replied: "Not at all. Not at all. I don't know what you're talking about" before laughing. Mike immediately piled in: "That's a complete lie, everyone!"

Mr Figueras and Ms Blaquier are widely known in royal circles as close friends of Harry and Meghan.

The Argentine polo player has appeared alongside the Duke of Sussex at polo events and charity matches over the years.

Ms Blaquier appeared in the first season of the Duchess of Sussex's Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
