The Princess of York is known for her eccentric accessories

Princess Beatrice could opt for a seasonal statement headband at Sandringham if she joins the Royal Family for the traditional Christmas Day service, according to a jewellery expert.

This comes as questions continue to swirl over the York family’s visibility during the festive period.

If Beatrice does attend the Sandringham service, her accessories are expected to draw attention after her 2024 appearance, where she wore a velvet headband rather than a traditional hat.

James Harris, Regional Sales Manager at Austen & Blake, told GB News that Beatrice tends to keep jewellery restrained at Sandringham but has shown a willingness to add one standout seasonal piece.

He said: “Princess Beatrice tends to opt for minimal jewellery accessories at Sandringham, such as her smaller green-tone drop earrings last year.

“We are also waiting in anticipation to see if we might spot another seasonal statement headband from her this year.

“Her festive green velvet headband, worn last Christmas, represented a playful, fun addition to her royal wardrobe.”

Mr Harris suggests that Beatrice will keep her jewellery simple at Sandringham, but allow one detail to carry the look.

That strategy is particularly suited to the Christmas Day walk, which is fast-moving, outdoors and heavily photographed, leaving little room for impractical styling.

With Andrew and Sarah still outside the fold of royal Christmas events, any decision by Beatrice to attend Sandringham is likely to be analysed heavily.

It will likely be viewed as a sign of where the York sisters sit within the King’s family set-up, even though they are not working royals.

The Princesses were noticeably absent from the Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey earlier this month.

The York sisters did, however, attend King Charles’s pre-Christmas family lunch at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

The gathering, held on December 16, brought together senior members of the Royal Family ahead of Christmas, with Beatrice and Eugenie arriving together.

Their inclusion at the Palace lunch came against a backdrop of continued exclusion for their parents, Andrew and Sarah, from royal festive events.

Andrew and Fergie will probably not be invited to the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations.

This is set to put fresh focus on how Beatrice and Eugenie navigate the season between private family loyalties and public royal appearances.

The sisters could choose to spend Christmas Day with their respective husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, though nothing has been confirmed.

A source told the Sun that Beatrice is set to leave the UK with Mr Mapelli Mozzi for a ski trip and snub both the Royal Family, as well as Andrew and Fergie.

They claimed: “Beatrice doesn’t want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between loyalty to the King and her parents.

“That is why, with Eugenie, they went to Buckingham Palace for the pre-Christmas family lunch.

“She appreciates the way that the King and William have looked after her during everything that has been happening with Andy and Sarah.

“She didn’t want it to look like they were snubbing anyone, so it was easier to go off with friends.”
