The former royal was stripped of his final military title on Monday

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were spotted attending King Charles’s Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, while their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was snubbed by his brother on Tuesday.

Charles took the unprecedented steps to remove his younger sibling’s royal titles at the end of October, and served him notice on his lease at Royal Lodge due to his links with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Beatrice and Eugenie beamed as they arrived at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the festive period with the King and other members of the royal family.

They were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, who were spotted arriving with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in the back of their car. Prince George was also in attendance.

Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, were seen arriving at the Palace alongside their daughter, Lady Amelia Windsor.

Andrew was pictured riding a horse in bad weather this morning, rather than attending the royal gathering, in the latest blow to the disgraced 65-year-old.

Princess Eugenie smiled as she was seen wearing a pair of candy cane earrings, enjoying the festive period after a difficult year for the two sisters.

Beatrice and Eugenie were notably absent from the Princess of Wales’s annual carol concert on December 5 but were seen today, amid suggestions that King Charles does not want the sisters to suffer for the issues surrounding their parents.

Andrew was stripped of his final military title on Monday.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirmed that the former prince no longer holds the honorary military rank of vice-admiral and had been reduced to the rank of commander (retired) Royal Navy.

A spokesman for the MoD said: "Following formal consideration, [the] Defence Council have agreed the immediate reversion from the rank of vice-admiral to the rank of commander [retired] Royal Navy, the rank held on retirement from regular Royal Naval service by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

"This decision aligns with such processes as to remove other styles and titles."

The Defence Secretary, John Healey, previously announced that his "last remaining title" would be removed by the Government upon guidance from King Charles.

Andrew served as a naval helicopter pilot during the Falklands conflict and was made a vice-admiral on his 55th birthday in 2015.

The former duke retained the rank after being required to relinquish other military affiliations in 2022.

He was previously commodore-in-chief of the Navy's Fleet Air Arm and admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps.

The former prince once held honorary military titles, including colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

Queen Elizabeth II stripped him of all military titles and patronages in January 2022 after his out-of-court settlement with the late Virginia Giuffre for $12million (£8.97million).

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing, and the Metropolitan Police previously considered the sexual assault claims were not sufficient to warrant further investigation.
