It comes as Victoria Beckham is facing a tough time as a rift has emerged between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents.
A source said regarding Kate's decision to wear the suit: "And while it would be ridiculous to suggest that Kate chose to wear VB because of the headlines over the fall out with Brooklyn, it would have brought a smile to Victoria’s face."
They added the gesture was "something the heart-broken Mrs Beckham could really do with right now."
The fashion choice comes as Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz recently attended a VIP dinner at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Montecito mansion.

According to a source close to the Sussexes, the couple were not "directly invited" by Harry and Meghan.
People magazine, described as the Sussexes' preferred US publication, reported their attendance was likely arranged through a mutual friend or intermediary.
Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, who live approximately 90 minutes from the Sussexes in Los Angeles, reportedly had "a wonderful time" at the dinner.
The gathering was part of a larger event rather than an exclusive meeting between the two couples.

Prince Harry reportedly offered Brooklyn his "unwavering support" during the dinner, drawing from his own experiences of family tensions.
