The 77-year-old monarch recently announced that his cancer treatment schedule will be scaled back in the New Year

The Royal Family's plans to celebrate Christmas at Sandringham this year are well underway, with the guestlist for the special gathering confirmed.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will join King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Norfolk estate, marking Kate's first festive season since announcing her cancer remission earlier in 2025.

The occasion carries additional significance following news that the King's own cancer treatment has been scaled back.

Royal author Robert Jobson told Hello: "The year has ended on a very positive note for the King, and the good news regarding his health will undoubtedly lift his spirits and those of the people around him.

“It will have brought reassurance to both him and his family.

"It will be good for him to have a chance to relax among his loved ones. It will be a very special time. I'm sure he will raise a glass this Christmas to those who care for him."

The Wales children – Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and seven-year-old Prince Louis – will accompany their parents to the monarch's private country retreat.

Prince Edward and Sophie are anticipated to attend with Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.

Princess Anne will be present alongside daughter Zara and son-in-law Mike Tindall, who will bring their three children.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have also secured places on the guest list for the festive gathering, however, Beatrice has decided to spend the festive period outside the UK.

Several family members will be absent from the festivities. Prince Harry and Meghan, who relocated to California, will once again spend Christmas apart from the wider family, remaining stateside with their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have also been excluded from the celebrations.

The pair have become outcasts within royal circles due to their links to Jeffrey Epstein.

Royal Christmas is far from the relaxed affair most families enjoy, with guests adhering to a rigid schedule across three days that includes multiple outfit changes.

Royal enthusiasts begin queuing at dawn on Christmas morning to glimpse the family walking to St Mary Magdalene Church.

Mr Jobson said: "What many do not realise is that the King and his family will have been to church once already that morning for a private service, away from the cameras and onlookers."

The author added: "It will be good for him to have a chance to relax among his loved ones. It will be a very special time."
