Queen Camilla is set to attend The Queen’s Reading Room Festival this evening at Chatsworth House.
She will meet people participating in one of the charity’s grassroots outreach programmes, watch a performance of Jane Austen’s work, view items from the author’s life and meet members of the public attending a showing of Pride and Prejudice on the lawns of the house.
The Queen will donate books to the organisation’s donation point, which will be open to members of the public on Saturday, September 20.
All books donated across the festival will be distributed to The Elm Foundation service users.

Through neuroscientific research, the charity seeks to discover and celebrate the unique power of books to improve brain health, mental health and social connection.
Its study using brain scans and skin conductance tests found that just five minutes of reading fiction both reduces stress by nearly 20% and improves the brain’s capacity to manage stress.
The Queen’s Reading Room reaches more than 12 million people in 182 countries around the world each year with its free, educational content around books.
On Thursday, Queen Camilla has given Melania Trump a private tour of Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.
