The future King and Queen made a trip to Wales ahead of St David's Day last week

The Princess of Wales met two young children with a special royal connection during her recent visit to Wales.

Catherine visited Powys with William ahead of St David’s Day last week, where she was introduced to two babies with ties to the Firm.

During an unexpected stop to meet with well-wishers, Catherine was greeted by a mother and baby.

“Very nice to meet you. And who's this?” the princess said in a video shared to X.

“This is Will,” the woman appeared to say.

Catherine replied with a smile, saying “hello, Will", before moving on to greet others who had lined the streets of the Welsh town.

Much to her surprise, the next woman’s child also had links to the Royal Family.

“Hello, hi, very nice to meet you,” Catherine said as she was introduced to Lily, another young baby.

The woman appeared to say they “knew each other well” before the princess took a photo with them and moved on.

Following the visit to Wales, the princess stunned royal fans as she delivered her St David’s Day message on social media.

Catherine has never spoken in Welsh before, but did not disappoint fans.

Both wearing daffodils, the couple spoke to the camera in Welsh, with English subtitles appearing below.

William started off the message saying: "To everyone in Wales, a very Happy St David's Day!"

Catherine followed up with: "Wales is very close to our hearts, and we look forward to every visit."

The Prince of Wales continued: "It is a beautiful country, with a rich history and wonderful people."

Concluding the video, Catherine said: "Wishing you a day full of celebration with family and friends."

Royal fans have been raining down praise on the couple's message in Welsh, which has garnered nearly 20,000 likes on Instagram in under half an hour.
