Princess Eugenie is "not a cynical person", a royal commentator has claimed, as her work away from the Royal Family is defended.
The Princess of York co-founded the Anti-Slavery Collective in 2017 with her friend Julia De Boinville, which attempts to find solutions to tackle modern slavery.
Eugenie, 33, has been speculated by some to have picked anti-slavery as her passion, due to the Royal Family's history and links to colonialism.
Gareth Russell, a royal author, spoke exclusively to GB News to explain why the princess chose to tackle slavery as her work away from the Royal Family.

He said: "There certainly has been speculation that Princess Eugenie picked the anti-slavery causes or anti-modern slavery because of historical investigation into the monarchy's links to slavery in the 17th and 18th centuries.
"However, I would be surprised if that was the reason she picked it.
"Partly because I don't think she seems that cynical a person.
"Also, if you were trying to bury an issue, the last thing you would do is adopt a cause that seems to be associated with it."

Theresa May, the former Prime Minister, was the first guest to appear on the podcast due to her political history of fighting modern slavery.
According to Russell, Princess Eugenie "does care" about the important issue, which is evident through her activism work.
He added: "So we can assume that Princess Eugenie is someone who does care about the issue of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Princess Eugenie recently travelled to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum.
She appeared at the event due to her role as the co-founder of the Anti-Slavery Collective.
Princess Beatrice, 35, also attended the event to support her younger sister.
